Samburu Intrepids

Luxury Camp

Samburu Intrepids Tented Camps is a riverside safari camp tucked into the heart of Samburu National Reserve, set along the life-giving banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in northern Kenya. This elevated location creates a lush, shaded oasis in the semi-arid landscape, where elephants, buffalo, zebras, reticulated giraffes, and other wildlife frequently visit the riverbanks — making game viewing from camp especially rewarding.

The camp accommodates guests in about 28 modern and newly refurbished tents, each raised on wooden decks with river views and furnished with comfortable safari-style décor, en-suite bathrooms, and outdoor verandas. The design capitalises on cooling breezes from the river and combines relaxed comfort with close contact with nature.

Dining at Samburu Intrepids is an open-air affair, with meals served at the main restaurant overlooking the water, while guests can unwind by the pool, at the bar, or around shaded seating areas. The camp also offers family-friendly features including an Adventurers’ Club for children and a range of wellness and leisure options.

Activities include twice-daily game drives, guided nature walks, bush breakfasts, sunset sundowners, and cultural visits to nearby Samburu communities. Birdwatching and photography are popular pastimes too, thanks to the rich wildlife and dramatic landscapes that characterise the reserve.

Easily reached by road from Nairobi or by light flight to the nearby airstrip with transfer to camp, Samburu Intrepids offers a blend of classic safari adventure and comfortable accommodation in one of Kenya’s most wildlife-rich and scenic wilderness areas.
